How to link a Court case to a Notice of protection

Updated 10 October 2026 y. • v1.0.0

A lawyer's authority to handle a specific Court case is confirmed by a Notice of protection. The link between the case, the Contract and the Notice in the system is called a Reason: it lets you always see the basis of your participation and, through the Contract, the Customer you are helping.

How to add a Reason to a Court case

On the Court case page, in the "Reason" block:

  1. Click the "Add a base" button;
  2. Fill in the form that opens;
  3. Click the "Create Reason" button.

What to enter in the form

  • Contract (required) — choose a Contract from the list. The list shows the Contracts of the Case under which the Court case was created;
  • Notice (optional) — choose the Notice of protection issued on the basis of the chosen Contract;
  • Procedural status (required) — choose the Customer's role in the proceedings.
Important: how statuses work
The list of procedural statuses depends on the Category of the Court case. If you are looking for the status "Suspect" but see "Plaintiff" or "Defendant", the case settings have the "Civil" category. To fix this, change the case category to "Criminal" and the status you need will appear in the list. Statuses are provided for the "Civil" and "Criminal" categories.

You can add any number of Reasons if several of your customers take part in the case or if your authority is documented by different documents.

Editing and deleting a Reason

To change the details:

  • in the list of Reasons inside the Court case, open the action menu (three dots);
  • choose "Edit", make the changes and click "Save Reason".

To delete:

  • in the same menu, choose "Delete";
  • after confirmation the Reason is deleted permanently (the Contract and the Notice remain in the system).
