Notice of protection (representation) — what it is and what it is for
Updated 10 October 2026 y. • v1.0.0
A Notice of protection (representation) is one of a lawyer's key documents, confirming their authority to provide legal assistance to a specific person.
In accordance with the legislation, every lawyer is required to keep a register of Notices of protection. In Pravoved.kz this process is fully automated and moved to electronic form.
The register of Notices of protection is kept by lawyers. Keeping the register is available on all plans, PDF generation on the "Extended" and "PRO" plans, and signing with a digital signature on the "PRO" plan.
The purpose of a Notice of protection in the system
Pravoved.kz lets you do more than store an electronic register of Notices: you can use a Notice as a working tool linked to other sections of the system.
In the system a Notice of protection does the following:
- stores information about the basis (a Contract or an Assignment) and, through it, about the Customer and the person to whom legal assistance is provided;
- links to Court cases and lawyer's Requests;
- lets you generate a Notice of protection (representation) as a PDF automatically;
- lets you sign the Notice with a digital signature;
- provides unified accounting and numbering of Notices.
When a Notice is generated, the Customer data is filled in automatically from the linked Contract, so there is no need to enter it again.
The main fields of a Notice of protection
A Notice of protection has the following required fields:
- Number — assigned automatically by the system on saving and can't be changed manually.
- Date — the date the Notice of protection was prepared.
- Type of protection notice — one of the options: an ordinary Notice or an SGLA Notice.
- Reason — the Contract number (for ordinary Notices) or the Assignment number (for SGLA Notices).
- Institution/government body — the body to which the Notice will be delivered.
On the Profile page, on the "Settings" tab, you can specify the number from which to continue numbering Notices and turn on a yearly reset of the numbering. This lets you keep numbering in the format you are used to, starting a new count each calendar year.
The "SGLA" type is used only when providing state-guaranteed legal aid. In all other cases an ordinary Notice of protection is prepared.
Why use electronic Notices
Using Notices of protection in Pravoved.kz lets you:
- keep the mandatory register of Notices in electronic form;
- avoid errors when filling in the Customer's details;
- quickly find related Cases, Contracts and documents;
- reduce the time spent preparing and drawing up procedural documents.
